Journeys through Journaling

One of the earliest accounts of wildlife in the Louisiana Colony came from Le Page Du Pratz a French amateur biologist and astronomer. Du Pratz kept a journal and drawings of wildlife he came across while living in Louisiana. Participants will attend a small lecture on Du Pratz and his drawings. Then discuss the importance of journaling and how to create a proper journal. Take your journal on a quick interpreter led nature stroll. After making notes in the journals, return to the visitor center to share the journaling experience with other participants.
